The mediation of information in the post-truth era
a conceptual analysis for the construction of referential senses

This study discusses conceptual perspectives on information mediation, with the problematization of the following question: how is it possible to identify and propose a concept of mediation in the field of Information Science? The objective is to investigate the concepts of mediation and information mediation through a dialogue between some areas of social sciences, aiming to propose a concept of mediation in the field of Information Science. The methodology of the study consists of a bibliographic research through a dialogue with various authors/texts that conceptually address information mediation. It is concluded that the concept of mediation in the field of Information Science is still in full development and can be constituted as a constructive set of intervention practices and interferences typified by technical, pedagogical, and institutional elements.
